Project Workshops

Project workshops are great for all learning levels to make a project start to finish with step by step instruction, and learn new skills that can be applied to further work. There’s always space to add your own oomph!

Bewitching Pendants
$70.00

Create a witchy pendant talisman to protect your neck!

In this 2.5 hour workshop, folks will be using a variety of hand-building techniques to you make your very own bewitching porcelain pendant with sculptural accent beads that can hang from a chain or cord. Fine details can be added through surface designs using underglazes, etching, and a final choice of a variety of glazes for your wearable artwork that fits you.

This workshop is beginner friendly and open to all levels of experience.

  • Sunday September 13th @ 1:30 - 4:00p

  • Cost: $70.00+HST includes enrolment for 1, clay, underglazes, studio equipment & tools, 1 bisque firing, your choice of glaze with a final glaze firing

  • Finished work will be ready approx. 3-4 weeks following the workshop

Holiday Ornaments
$75.00

Whats a tree without ornaments? Well a tree, but you get where I’m going with this, come make a set of ornaments for your trees, home, and whatever else you can hang something off of! Using hand building, cutters, stamps and underglazes you can make a set for the holiday season! You will be able to make 4-10 ornaments dependant on size and complexity.

Choose your clay body: white or brown speckle stoneware and choose your final glazes for each ornament!

  • Sunday November 22, 1:30p - 4:00p

  • Cost: $75 +HST includes enrolment, clay, studio equipment & tools, 1 bisque firing, your choice of glazes with a final glaze firing. Please note it takes approximately 2-3.5 weeks to receive your final pieces.

Courses are multi-sessional, really letting you get into the nitty gritty of technique, forms, shapes and finishes, giving you a well rounded understanding of ceramics to carry into your developing practice.

Mold Making 1 Day Intensive- 1 & 2 Part Molds
$450.00

Have you ever wanted to make one thing a lot? Well let me tell you - it’s pretty magical to do so! Mold making is a wonderful but tedious process, helping artists and makers the ability to create multiples, series, or consistent work. Here at Kitte Club we make it simple, giving you a well rounded understanding of 1 & 2 part molds and their various applications as well as step by step instructions and demonstration on how to make and use them! This is a great way to up your ceramics practice with new and exciting methods!

This is an intensive 1 day course designed to bring you through the process of creating a 1 & 2 part molds, and how to cast your mold, and clean and fine tune your final object. The object for your 2 part mold is provided, but you’ll have 1 hour in the course to create your object for your 1 part mold.

We take you through:

  • Mold Making types & applications

  • We will be making:

    • 1x 2 Part Plaster Mold

    • 1× 1 Part Plaster Mold

  • Making & casting slip

  • Clean up and final touches on casted objects

  • Creative applications in getting more out of your molds

You leave with:

  • 1× 2 Part Plaster Mold

  • 1× 1 Part Plaster Mold

  • Mold making & casting checklist

  • Knowledge and confidence to go forward on your mold making journey!


Duration: This is a 1 day intensive course, Saturday September 19, 10a-6p (7hrs + 1 hr lunch (lunch not provided))

This course is led by Kitte Club Owner Jes Young. Jes is a seasoned mold maker and ceramicist, practicing for over 10 years now - continuously creating multiples. They’ve taught numerous mold making classes including Mold Making at York U and consistently use mold making techniques to create ceramic infestations. They are always excited to teach mold making, their favourite class, to folk who are new to, or looking to improve their practice!

Mold Making for Ceramics 101 (8 weeks)

You go home with your 2-4 molds, some finished objects made from your molds that will be bisque & glaze fired, and all the steps and processes to go forward on your mold making journey!
