Project Workshops

Project workshops are great for all learning levels to make a project start to finish with step by step instruction, and learn new skills that can be applied to further work. There’s always space to add your own oomph!

Pour Over + Matching Mug
$125.00

It is scientifically proven that coffee tastes better out of a handmade mug and made using a handmade pour over. Scientifically. Proven. 

Join us to make your very own mug and matching, or mis-matching, coffee pour over just the way you like using slab building techniques, and guided hand building before adding custom details to make yours truly one of a kind.

  • When: Saturday May 23 @ 1 - 5p,  4 hrs

  • Cost: $125 +HST includes enrolment, choice of clay clay, studio equipment & tools, bisque firing, your choice of glaze, with a final glaze firing

Build - a - Bug
$75.00

Create your own little ceramic critters to decorate your home with our Build-a-Bug workshop! Participants will be guided through the basics of hand-building and receive a ball of white porcelain clay to transform into any type of critter they like. They will have the option to decorate their creations with a selection of underglazes as well as a final glaze.

  • Saturday April 4 @ 1p-3:30p

  • Cost: $75.00+HST includes enrolment for 1, clay, underglazes, studio equipment & tools, 1 bisque firing, your choice of glaze with a final glaze firing

  • Finished work will be ready approx. 3-4 weeks following the workshop

This Workshop is led by bug and coffee enthusiast Alex Bauman: 

Alex Bauman is a Toronto-based ceramicist and illustrator. Inspired by nature, whimsy, and her inner child, she loves to create little critters and colourful, often humorous  scenes. When not making lil’ critters they are slinging expertly crafted coffee at their cafe The Bothy in the East End.

Multi-Sessional Courses

Courses are multi-sessional, really letting you get into the nitty gritty of technique, forms, shapes and finishes, giving you a well rounded understanding of ceramics to carry into your developing practice.

Mold Making for Ceramics 101 (8 weeks)

Have you ever wanted to make one thing a lot? Well let me tell you - it’s pretty magical to do so! Mold making is a wonderful but tedious process, helping artists and makers the ability to create multiples, series, or consistent work, and here at Kitte Club we make it simple, giving you a well rounded understanding of molds and their various applications as well as step by step instructions and demonstration on how to make and use them! Each mold you make will be with your own created work, making start to finish a mold you can and will want to continue to cast over and over again!

This is a great way to up your ceramics practice with new and exciting methods!

We take you through:

  • Mold Making Applications

  • Various types of Molds and why each are used

  • We will be making and working with:

    • 1x 2 Part Plaster Mold

    • 1-2x Press Molds

    • 1x Drape Mold

  • Making & Casting Slip, learning about different optional add ins

  • Clean up on casted objects

  • Some more creative applications

You go home with your 3-4 molds, some finished objects made from your molds and glazed by youthat will be bisque & glaze fired, and all the steps and processes to go forward on your mold making journey!


Duration: This is an 8 week course, Wednesday nights May 6 - June 24, 5:30 - 8:30p

Cost: $550 +HST, includes enrolment, all materials and firings

Spots: This is an intimate class with only 6 spots available

This course is led by Kitte Club Owner Jes Young. Jes has worked with Mold Making and Ceramics for 10 years - continuing to create artist multiples. They’ve taught multiple mold making classes including Mold Making at York U and consistently use mold making techniques in their artistic practice. They are always excited to share mold making with folk who are new to this practice!

*You must be able to attend all classes. There are no refunds for missed classes and limited opportunity to make up a missed class

Littered Vessels

One person’s trash is another person’s center piece, that’s the saying right? Join us for a multi-week workshop to create some sculptural vessels with the inspiration of our favourite trash.

Using handbuilding we will create and fine-tune our trash vessels, making them just right and for whatever purpose you choose, before getting to have fun with surface design and final touches.

Duration: Saturday June 6, 13, 20, 27 @ 1 - 4p,  3 hr sessions

Cost: $225 +HST includes enrolment, clay, studio equipment & tools, bisque firing, your choice of glaze, with a final glaze firing

Instructor: Garbage aficionado, Jes Young. Jes started Kitte Club in 2024 to build a community studio for folks who make weird and wonderful ceramics. They sculpt a variety of trash and pests that build our city.
