Welcome (or welcome back!) to the world of wheel throwing - where you will transform a ball of clay into your own hand thrown piece. In this class we will be exploring all the steps to transforming a lump of clay into a one of a kind artwork on the wheel! Over the 4 weeks of the course, you will learn how to throw clay using the wheel, how to trim away any excess clay to reveal your pieces true form, wedge and prep your clay, reclaim clay, and different techniques for glazing and finishing your piece before bringing them home! All the techniques and tools to begin and or build on your wheel throwing practice! (This is what they mean by spin class right?)
This class is suited for both absolute beginners to wheel throwing and people who have some experience with the basics who want to bring their skills to the next level, learn some new tips n’ tricks with your instructor at the ready.
Duration: This is a 4 week course, Tuesdays 6 - 9p, October 7 - 28
Cost: $300 +HST, includes instruction, materials, tools, glazes, and firings
Spots: This is an intimate class with only 2 spots available
